It's In Your Hands

I don’t represent any person or any group's agenda. I am running for the Wake County Board of Education because I truly feel that my skills and LIFE experiences will make a difference for our students. Now, I am asking for your vote on October 6.

It’s in your hands.
I have listened and will continue to listen to the voices of the community.

I share the concerns of our community about the impacts of growth on the quality of our schools.  We must find funding beyond the property tax.  Growth should pay for growth.

I support year round schools as a way to save tax dollars. These schools provide space for 25% more students, which saved taxpayers over $357 million in construction costs.

I will work to keep money in the classroom and support excellent teachers who care about the success and future careers of all students.

I pledge to make the School Board more family-friendly, such as:
-schedules that allow siblings to attend school on the same calendar, and
-assignment of students to only one school in middle and high school.

I believe there are positive ways to improve student achievement without dismantling current policies. The quality and reputation of our schools help attract the best businesses and the highest-paying jobs.

I will work to build our schools up, not tear them down.
